On June 11-12, 2024, the second STRIKE MSCA Doctoral Network scientific meeting took place in Nantes, France. Hosted by Nantes Université, this event was a platform for doctoral candidates to present their initial research findings, exchange ideas, and plan future activities.
In addition to progress reports, the meeting featured presentations on a variety of different topics. Frédéric Lezot from INSERM discussed advancements in the understanding of development and cancer. Angela Scala from UNIME presented on the nanoformulation of polymer-based delivery systems, while Javier Muñoz-García from this meeting host institution elaborated on the use of microfluidic devices in cancer research. Representatives from the Bone Cancer Research Trust, Zoe Davidson and Victoria Vinader, shared their perspectives on how patient associations can catalyze innovative research efforts, ultimately saving lives and improving outcomes for those affected by primary bone cancer.
The meeting concluded with a productive discussion, resulting in well-developed plans for the next phase of the project. The 2 nd STRIKE MSCA Doctoral Network meeting thus ended on a high note, setting the stage for continued collaborative efforts in the field.
